These things are material things, what's important is that you and your family are safe. Here are a few tips I want to share that I think will help keep you, your family, and maybe even your home safe:
- If you're traveling for the holiday's DON'T POST IT on Facebook or any other social media website. That's like advertising your home is open and ready for burglars to take what they want.
- Don't leave anything of value in your vehicles. When you're done shopping, take everything out of your cars.
- Avoid having your Christmas tree displayed in the windows especially if you have gifts under them.
- Don't leave the evidence of expensive purchases in the trash like large boxes and boxes with images of TVs, Computers, etc.
- If you are traveling, do ask a close friend or relative to monitor your home. If possible have a house sitter.
- Do watch for suspicious activity or unfamiliar faces in your neighborhood. When in doubt call the police.
I hope these tips can help you and if you have more to add, please share in the comments below. Do be safe and have a happy holiday season.
