Saving the planet and being eco-friendly has been some of the most talked about topics recently so it is no wonder that they have found their way into the wedding scene. Being "green" doesn't always mean buying a hybrid car or having a solar powered reception, so here are some simple and easy ways to keep Mother Nature happy during your wedding.
Old is the new! New and vintage touches are one of this year's hottest trends. Think of buying vintage as fashionable recycling. By buying a vintage wedding dress you can look stunning, save a few dollars and reduce waste. Decorations, centerpieces and jewelry can also be bought at vintage stores and allow you to put a personal touch on your wedding. If you don't like the vintage look but still want to reduce environmental waste try printing your invitations, programs and menus on recycled paper.
When it comes to your wedding menus try buying food locally. The food will be fresh and allows you to support your local farmer which in turn supports your community. Without local farmers you would be faced with having your food shipped in from thousands of miles away. This translates into lower quality food and additional pollution from the long shipment.
Who knew fresh food and vintage items could have such a big impact on the environment while keeping your wedding affordable and chic!
How are you planning on staying eco-friendly and affordable in your wedding?
